Betty and Bob

Betty and Bob Stacke met in Sydney, Australia during WWII. They spent three months together and then didn't see each other until the war was over three years later. Throughout their 64 years of marriage, they were apart only two nights. My brother and I spent every Wednesday afternoon at my grandparents' house until we left for college. We sat at the kitchen table; my grandpa talked about sailing the South Pacific and my grandma talked about riding her horse, Doll, in Australia's magnificent Megalong Valley and swimming at Bondi Beach in the morning.
