Every December, for the last three years, I've offered free family portraits at the Manenberg Library in Cape Town, South Africa. It's one way I can give back to a community that’s shared so much with me in the nine years I've been working
on “Love From Manenberg” there.
This year, over two days, more than 275 families came to the library and every person photographed walked away with a print (or two or three). I think of it as Manenberg's yearbook and I'm grateful I can contribute to the visual archive of this remarkable and surprising place that I love.
